CHEMCON 2024, the 77th Annual Session of the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers will be held during December 27-30, 2024 at NIT Jalandhar. The annual technical jamboree of IIChE, CHEMCON, continues to encourage academic activities to help students as well as teachers to continuously develop their skills to meet the demands of the present society. CHEMCON 2024 also brings together stakeholders of Chemical Engineering profession, researchers and industrialists to discuss current trends and future developments in the field of Chemical Engineering. The theme of CHEMCON 2024 is “Role of Chemical Engineering towards sustainable development and Atmanirbhar bharat”
The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) is the apex professional body of Chemical Engineers in the country instituted in the year 1947 and presently has more than 25,000 corporate members on its roll. The activities of the Institute are spread across the country through its 47 Regional Centres and 186 Student Chapters, apart from the HQ located at the Jadavpur University Campus, Kolkata.The IIChE has been conducting the Associate Membership Examination since 1960 and publishes an esteemed quarterly Journal “The Indian Chemical Engineer” since 1959.

Doaba Regional Centre of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers was established in the year 2002 with its office at the Department of Chemical Engineering, NIT Jalandhar. The DRC has four student chapters located at NIT Jalandhar, Hamirpur, Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Ferozepur and Beant College of Engineering and Technology, Gurdaspur. The Centre has successfully organized S-CHEMCON 2008, CHEMCON in 2012 and 2018. The experts from leading research and technical educational institutes, industries and related business houses contribute to the wide variety of activities of the centre.
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar NIT Jalandhar was established in the year 1987 as erstwhile Regional Engineering College and was given the status of NIT Jalandhar by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi on October 17, 2002 under the Act of Parliament-2007.As an Institute of National importance, NIT Jalandhar comprehends its responsibility of providing high quality education in Engineering and Technology to produce competent technical manpower for the country. The Institute offers UG, PG and research programmes with latest research infrastructure in all disciplines. Institute holds 46th NIRF ranking and within a ranking band of 651-700 amongst Asian Universities.
